Victor Ortega is a passionate restaurateur and hospitality entrepreneur originally from Sevilla, Spain, who has called New York City home for the past 14 years. With over 15 years in the industry, he is best known as the co-founder and managing partner of Black Iron Burger, the acclaimed NYC burger concept he revitalized in 2013. Under his leadership, Black Iron Burger has become a city favorite—named #1 Best Burger Joint by Zagat in 2017 and 2018, and topping TripAdvisor rankings from 2019 to 2022—celebrated for its all-natural, hormone- and antibiotic-free beef, state-of-the-art grilling, and Mediterranean-inspired flavors that nod to his Spanish roots.

Victor previously contributed to a Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine catering operation in New York, delivering authentic, high-quality experiences for events, business offices, and private clients. Today, he brings that same dedication to excellence to a new Greek frozen yogurt concept in Southern Spain called Kala, fusing creamy premium quality Greek yogurt with creative, fresh toppings in a modern, welcoming format designed for locals and visitors alike.
